Email Coach Alvarez

Coach Rafael Alvarez began his diving career as a freshman at Lawrence North.  After participating in his first practice, he knew he had stumbled across something that would change his life.  Through hard work and training, he was a four-year state qualifier for the Wildcats, finishing in the top 10 three times.  He was All-State his junior and senior year, a two-time NISCA All-American, and the IHSAA state runner-up in 2004.  He still holds the LN school records for 6 and 11 dives.  Rafael attended Indiana University where he dove for the Hoosiers until his career ended in 2007.  He has coached 2 state qualifiers, one with a 4th and 3rd place for the girls.  He also coaches for the Indiana International School of Diving, where he has also coached a diver to the USA Diving Nationals.  "I'm very fortunate to be a part of the diving family, this community, and my alma mater, Lawrence North."
